JSONedit is a simple JSON editor with text, tree and list view. Complete application (single executable file) weights about 2 MB (statically linked Lua and Scintilla.

Creates UI for json files created along their schemes.

Usage

atom-json-editor tries to build a UI for a file every time you switch to a tab containing a .json file. The resulting JSON data is automatically saved on change.

Schemes must follow the json-schema specs for proper validation.

Adding custom schemes

By default, some basic schemes are included with the package. Add your own schemes to build .json files in your own format

Schemes are picked by name conversion

Json Panel is full Json Editor which can be used to edit Json. Switch Theme, Switch View Click on on top-right corner of the web-page, and change theme you are comfortable with, Dark or Lite.
. Change type of values. Sort arrays and objects. Colorized values, color depends of the value type. Search & highlight text in the treeview. Undo and redo all actions. Load and save files from disk, cloud, or url. Format, compact, and inspect JSON in the code editor. Validate JSON using a JSON schema.

Any scheme should have the file extension .schema.json. Any .json file containing it's filename is validated against it.

As an example package.json is validated against package.schema.json. As would any-prefix.package.json.

Using Schemes in your Working Directory

Available since 0.4.0, with thanks to DimShadoWWW

First of all, atom-json-editor will check if there is a valid .schema.json-File inside your current working directory. This means that a File inside ~/anywhere/file.json will be validated against ~/anywhere/file.schema.json if available.

If no valid schema is found inside your working directory, atom-json-editor will continue searching in your Schemes Directory.

Within the package settings choose atom-json-editor. The only option available by now is Schemes Directory. Set it to an (absolute) path where your schemes are stored.

If a scheme isn't found in your Schemes Directory, atom-json-editor will try to get one from it's package library.

Adding schemes to the package library (deprecated)

You can also add schemes directly to the package library by moving them into ~/.atom/packages/atom-json-editor/lib/schemes/.

Note that schemes added to the package library may be replaced when updating this package.

Known issues

A JSON file is open while installing the package

If a JSON file is open while installing the package, you have to de- and reselect the file's tab to start the editor.

Intellisense/Auto Complete

The JSON Editor intelligently calculates the auto complete options from an associated JSON Schema. So you are presented with the properties, and types that are permitted, at the current location in the file. Annotations are read from the JSON Schema and presented as tooltips, to provide context sensitive help.

Infer Schema (JSON document to JSON Schema)

A JSON Schema can be inferred from a sample JSON document, the resulting JSON Schema can then be refined manually if needed using the JSON Schema Editor. Associating a JSON Schema with a document provides validation and intellisense.

Document Outline View

The document outline shows the current JSON document as a tree. The selection in the editor and the document outline remain in sync making it quick and easy to navigate large or complex documents.

Goto Definition

Jumps to the JSON Schema definition of the currently selected item within the JSON Document.

Validation

Determines if a JSON document is both well-formed and valid against an associated JSON Schema. Errors are shown inline within the JSON document and in the error window as you type.

The JSON Editor allows elements within the JSON document to be collapsed, thus maximizing your working area to simplify editing large files.

The JSON Editor provides a 'Format JSON' option which indents all the elements correctly, making the JSON document simple to read.

The JSON Editor provides syntax highlighting which makes your JSON code easier to develop, allowing errors to be avoided.

File change notification

The user is notified when the file they are working on is changed by an external editor.

Spell Checking

Liquid JSON Studio contain a powerful SpellChecker. The SpellChecker highlights spelling mistakes inline in real time as you type, mistakes can then be corrected by clicking on them and selecting the correct spelling.
